In 2018, Biscottificio Antonio Mattei opened the Museum & Shop in the heart of Florence, a unique place dedicated to the art and tradition of the famous Prato Biscuits (commonly known as Cantucci or Cantuccini), from 1858 to today. A place where you can discover the Biscuit Factory's history, admire vintage objects, and, of course, taste our biscuits and other artisanal specialties.
A unique experience for lovers of Tuscan pastry tradition!
The Antonio Mattei Museum & Shop is located in Florence at via Porta Rossa 76/r, where it opened in 2018.
The Museum & Shop is open to visitors every day except Monday but only by reservation and from 11.15am to 6.15pm.
The Museum is closed in August and December.
The tour with tasting includes an overview of the Biscuit Factory's history, its products, and the people who have worked there. The experience lasts approximately 25/30 minutes.
Groups of up to 8 people can access the Museum at a time.
Upon request, it is possible to book a private visit, which includes closing the Museum and Shop to the public for an exclusive experience.
The tour with tasting is always available in Italian and English, and upon request, also in French and Spanish. Please specify your language preference when booking to ensure an appropriate experience.
Different tasting options are available. Download the brochure to discover what you can enjoy at the Museum & Shop.
The entry fee varies depending on the selected tasting experience and includes: the guided tour, and a tasting of our historic products.
Payment must be made before the start of the visit at the cash register of the Museum & Shop.
You'll receive a receipt after your tour, or an invoice if requested.
The Museum is the Florentine home of the Antonio Mattei biscuit factory. It is accessed via a small staircase and if it is not booked for some activity, it is possible to sit at the table to drink the coffee which we always pair for free with one of our biscuits.
Unfortunately, due to the building's structure, we cannot facilitate access for people with disabilities.
No objects may be removed from the Museum & Shop under any circumstances.
