Little hatbox with Prato Biscuits and Dark Chocolate Biscuits

• Description

  The small 'Giorgio' hatbox offers a great classic of the Tuscan tradition: the Prato Biscuit (also called 'Cantuccio' or 'Cantuccino' with Almonds) and the Dark Chocolate version of the same biscuit.
  Contains a 250 g pack of Prato Biscuits and a 250 g pack of Dark Chocolate Biscuits.
  
  Prato Biscuits are prepared with 5 simple ingredients: flour, sugar, free-range eggs, almonds and pine nuts, they do not contain preservatives, animal fats or vegetable fats.
  Dark chocolate biscuits are made with the same dough of the biscuits from Prato (flour, sugar, free-range eggs), and instead of almonds and pine nuts, fine dark chocolate (85 % cocoa) is added.

• History

  Since 1858 the Prato Biscuits have been baked daily and hand-packed one by one, in the classic Blu Mattei bag.
  
  The Dark Chocolate Biscuits come out of our oven for the first time in 2013, these are also hand-packed one by one, originally in the red bag, and from 2019 in the Blu Mattei bag with Red label.
  
  In fact, in June 2019, Biscottificio Mattei obtained the registration of its Blue bags for the Single Color trademark; an important and rare recognition that definitively attributes to this historic packaging its uniqueness and belonging to the ancient Biscottificio.
  Now all our biscuits are packaged with the Mattei Blue package, with different colored elements that distinguish the different taste.
  
  The hat boxes have been used by the Biscuit factory since the 1920s to ship our products.
  Common object in homes, up to the 1960s, for the non-accessory use of hats in men's and women's clothing up to that time; Ernesto Pandolfini thought of reusing the hat boxes as shipping boxes.
  Even today they are reusable collector boxes as containers for small objects.
