Little hatbox with Prato Biscuits, Dark Chocolate Biscuits and Pistachio and Almond Biscuits

• Description

  The small 'Lippi' hatbox offers a great classic of the Tuscan tradition: the Prato Biscuit (also called 'Cantuccio' or 'Cantuccino' with Almonds), the Dark Chocolate version of the same biscuit and the Pistachio and Almond one.
  Contains a 125 g pack of Prato Biscuits, a 125 g pack of Dark Chocolate Biscuits, and a 125 g pack of Pistachio and Almond Biscuits.
  
  Prato Biscuits are prepared with 5 simple ingredients: flour, sugar, free-range eggs, almonds and pine nuts, they do not contain preservatives, animal fats or vegetable fats.
  The Dark Chocolate biscuits and the Pistaccio and Almond biscuits are made with the same dough as the Prato Biscuits but instead of almonds and pine nuts, fine dark chocolate (85 % cocoa) or pistacchio and almonds are added.

• History

  Since 1858 the Prato Biscuits have been baked daily and hand-packed one by one, in the classic Blu Mattei bag.
  
  The Dark Chocolate Biscuits came out of our oven for the first time in 2013, these are also hand-packed one by one, originally in a red bag, but since 2019 in the Blu Mattei bag with a Red label.
  
  In 2017 the Mattei family added the new flavour with Pistachios and Almonds.
  
  In June 2019, Biscottificio Mattei obtained the registration of its Blue bags for the Single Colour trademark; an important and rare recognition that definitively attributes to this historic packaging its uniqueness and belonging to the ancient Biscottificio.
  Now all our biscuits are packaged with the Mattei Blue package, with different coloured elements that distinguish the different flavours.
  
  The hat boxes have been used by the Biscuit factory since the 1920s to ship our products.
  A common object in homes up to the 1960s, used to store men's and women's hats up to that time; Ernesto Pandolfini thought of reusing the hat boxes as shipping boxes.
  Even today they are collector boxes, reusable as containers for small objects.
