Description
Made with only the finest selected ingredients, this coarsely textured sauce pairs wonderfully with boiled, grilled, and fried red meats, as is often done in Tuscany, where it is also known as "acciugata."
The caper and anchovy sauce can also be added to vegetables and fish to enhance pasta dishes with a bolder flavor, as well as to white meats and fish-based second courses.
Spread on simple crostini or our toasted Pan Brioche slices, it becomes a perfect ingredient for an appetizer or a quick and tasty snack.
Store in a cold dry place.
Once opened keep refrigerated and use within 15 days. -
History
In 1949 Antonio Bonomo and Girolamo Giglio started their capperificio activity in Pantelleria.
With the disappearance of the founders, the sons of Antonio and Girolamo have collected the memory of the hard and precious work of their fathers and have handed it over to Gabriele Lasagni, who has deepened the study and research on the ingredients that Pantelleria contains and who today directs La Nicchia with passion.
Today, after more than sixty years, their company is the only Pantelleria organisation to be an Agricultural Company, Capperificio and Artigianale Laboratory.

45% Capers Italian origin (salt, wine vinegar), extra virgin olive oil, sun-dried tomatoes, green olives, 2% anchovies, chili pepper.
